Your preferences split into two layers: a few global display settings that apply everywhere, and a full set of per-league notification choices you can tune league by league. Both live on the User Preferences page. (Turning the email channel itself on or off happens in My Account; this page is about what you get notified about.)
Global Preferences
Real Odd Games has two personalities, and these switches decide which one you see. By default the site runs in a clean, no-nonsense mode; turn these off to bring in the fun.
- Hide mascots — controls the mascot characters. On by default (mascots hidden); uncheck it to let them show up around the site.
- Disable effects — controls visual animations and the tone of the little blurbs at the top of each page. On by default: no animations, and the copy stays plain and factual. Uncheck it for animations and the playful, tongue-in-cheek blurbs.
- Skip league-creation emails — stops the confirmation emails you'd otherwise get when you create a league.
New accounts start in the quiet, serious mode, so nothing is flashing or joking around until you decide you want it. The guided tutorial always shows the full personality — mascots, animations, and jokes — so you can see what the fun mode looks like before you choose.
The page also shows your current notification channels (email status, phone, carrier) as read-only — those are edited in My Account.
Per-League Notifications
Pick a league from the dropdown and a full set of notification toggles appears for just that league. Here's what each one means and when it fires:
- Plays available — a heads-up (typically in the morning) that a new play is ready in the league.
- Play deadline — a reminder before the cutoff that you still have a play to make.
- Missed plays — a next-morning note that a play window closed without a submission from you.
- Game day — a note on days the league has games in play.
- Results posted — a message after your plays are graded. Pair this with the results detail choice below.
- Weekly summary — a periodic recap of how you're doing in the league.
- Season reminder — notices tied to the start or turn of a season.
- Player joins / player leaves — membership changes in the league. These two are only available if the league owner has turned on join/leave notifications; otherwise they're greyed out.
- Allow invites — lets you receive invitations related to this league.
- Show history — controls whether your past play history is displayed for this league.
Results Detail
When "results posted" is on, a results detail choice lets you get either all results or winning results only — handy if you'd rather only hear about the good days.
Applying to Every League
Select All and Clear All flip every toggle for the current league at once. And because setting these one league at a time gets tedious, an apply to all leagues option copies the settings you've chosen out to every league you belong to. Save when you're done — the button stays disabled until you've actually changed something.
Advanced Auto-Pick
The Advanced Preferences page lets you set an auto-pick mode, choose a favorite team per sport, and order which favorite takes priority when several play the same day. Your choices are saved to your account. Auto-pick itself — actually filling in a play on the days you don't submit one — is a background feature that's rolling out; your settings here are saved and ready for when it goes live.
